Johannesburg Tourism Company (JTC) proudly announces its triumphant participation at the ITB Berlin 2024 travel trade show, led by the distinguished delegation comprising MMC: Economic Development at the City of Johannesburg, Councillor Nomoya Mnisi, JTC Board Chairperson Ms. Gugu Sithole and JTC Destination Marketing Manager, Ms. Lumka Dlomo.
The JTC delegation engaged in a series of impactful meetings with key players in the European travel trade, fostering collaborations and exploring innovative ways to enhance tourism offerings and elevate the tourism industry in Johannesburg.
A highlight of the event was the active involvement of MMC Nomoya Mnisi and Board Chairperson Ms. Gugu Sithole in attending conferences focused on identifying new strategies to further boost the tourism sector in the vibrant metropolis.
In a momentous celebration, MMC Nomoya Mnisi, JTC Board Chairperson Ms. Gugu Sithole, and the esteemed Ambassador of South Africa to Germany in Berlin, HE Stone Sizani, came together to congratulate Flying Media CEO Sven Klawunder. Flying Media was honoured with the prestigious Golden Star Award at the Golden City Gate Awards 2024. This accolade recognised their outstanding promotional video showcasing the Sanctuary Mandela Boutique Hotel in Johannesburg.

Joburg Tourism Company is a destination management organisation (DMO) within the City’s Department of Economic Development, dedicated to promoting tourism growth in Johannesburg. Its primary function is to promote Johannesburg as a business, lifestyle, sport and leisure destination, both locally and internationally. Its operations include running a Convention Bureau, a Visitor Services Bureau, as well as co-ordinating city-wide tourism marketing programmes, tourism information gathering and analysis.
